Significant Potassium Sparing Effect

"Amiloride produced a significant potassium sparing effect,reducing
urinary potassium excretion by 30% compared to significat urinary
potassium wasting with frusemide (increase of 33%)"

When Potassium Consercation is a Matter of Concern

"A synergistic effects was observed after the combination admistration of the two
diuretics:Between the 2nd and the 8th hour,the sodium elimination was significantly

Indications
Dosage & Admisistration
During is indicated where diuresis is required and where magnesium and potassium conservation is important e.g in fluid retention due to cardiac,hepatic or renal disorders and in hypertension. The initial adult Dose is one tablet to be taken each morning This may be increased to two tablets each morning if the initial response is unsatisfactory.The daily dose of amiloride should not exceed 20mg.
Duride 40mg Rs.2.00 per tablet
